Consumer's Warranty

Columbia Outdoor Three Years Limited Warranty

For three (3) years from the date of original purchase of COLUMBIA products, COLUMBIA will either repair or replace, at its option, free of charge, F.O.B. factory or authorized service firm, any part found to be defective in material and workmanship. All transportation charges on parts submitted for replacement under this warranty must be paid by the purchaser unless return is requested by COLUMBIA.

The three (3) years warranty DOES NOT APPLY TO ENGINE AND HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION. VERIFY WITH THE RESPECTIVE MANUFACTURER TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR WARRANTY COVERAGE.

This warranty DOES NOT apply to any part which has become inoperative through misuse, excessive use, accident, neglect, improper maintenance or alterations by unauthorized persons.

This limited warranty does not extend to the replacement of parts defective, but where regular usage has exhausted the life of the part.

ENGINE WARRANTY

Claims for warranty on engines must be submitted to the respective engine manufacturer. The warranty period for the engine may vary according to the manufacturer and must be checked with the said manufacturer.

For units equipped with Powermore engines, claims must be submitted to COLUMBIA. Powermore engines are covered for three (3) years against defective workmanship.

TRANSMISSION WARRANTY

Warranty claims for Hydro-Gear, Tuff Torq and/or Peerless transmissions must be submitted to their respective manufacturer. Transmissions are covered by a two (2) years warranty.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE WARRANTY

Batteries are warranted against defect for 90 days at 100% of their value and 50% of their value for the period between the 91st day and the 120th day.

Belts, light bulbs, clutch parts (friction wheels), grass bags, seats, rider deck wheels and cutting blades are covered by a 30 days limited warranty.

Regular maintenance replacement parts and related inspections and adjustments are excluded from coverage when made as part of normal maintenance service, as well as transportation costs, telephone charges and other charges to rent a replacement unit.

The hydraulic components such as pump, cylinder and valves are warranted for a period not exceeding one (1) year from the date of original purchase.

TIRES: Claims for warranty on tires must be submitted to the respective manufacturers except when a leak has been repaired with an inner tube during setup.

ITEMS NOT COVERED

Routine maintenance parts such as fuses, shear bolts, blade adapters, oils and filters are considered consumable items and as such are not warranted as well as servicing and other adjustments required as part of normal maintenance.

Cleaning or replacement of the carburetor, due to improper storage, is not considered as a manufacturing defect and is not covered by the warranty.

Warranty service may only be performed by an authorized COLUMBIA dealer. Any non-genuine equipment replacement part used on or in a product under warranty will be excluded from that warranty coverage, as will be any related damaged components resulting from the installation of a replacement part which is not a genuine COLUMBIA part.

The return of a complete unit will be not accepted by the factory or the distributor unless prior written approval has been given by COLUMBIA.

EXTERIOR FINISH

NORMAL DETERIORATION OF THE EXTERIOR FINISH DUE TO USE OR EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS, CORROSIVE PRODUCTS ETC. IS NOT WARRANTED. LABELS ARE COVERED FOR 1 YEAR FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE.

CARBURETOR WARRANTY

A manufacturing defect of the carburetor will normally occur in the first few minutes of use of the unit. The problems of carburetion following a storage period are in the majority of cases caused by contamination connected to stale fuel, excessive ethanol or water in the fuel system and are not covered by the warranty of the manufacturer.

ACTIVATION OF THE WARRANTY

The registration form of a unit sold must be received by COLUMBIA within thirty (30) days following delivery. A copy of the invoice must be attached to the registration form. A copy of the invoice is not required if registration is done online.

WARRANTY POLICY FOR COMMERCIAL OR INSTITUTIONAL USE

All COLUMBIA product purchased by a company or for commercial use are not covered by any warranty.

Any use other than the personal uses mentioned above is regarded as commercial. A unit used by a paid employee will be considered as a commercial unit.

The preceding paragraphs constitute the only and complete warranty given by COLUMBIA on units purchased and used for personal, family and household/residential purposes, as distinguished from commercial usage.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE

Warranty repairs for COLUMBIA products can be carried out by any COLUMBIA authorized dealer. Warranty does not cover freight charges of unit to dealer for warranty repairs. No unit may be shipped back to manufacturer, unless a written approval from COLUMBIA has been received prior to shipment.

OTHER WARRANTIES

All other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability are limited in their duration as set forth in this expressed limited warranty. The provisions, as set forth in this warranty, provide the sole and exclusive remedy of the obligations of COLUMBIA arising from the sale of its products. COLUMBIA will not be held liable, in any circumstances, for any incidental or consequential loss or damage.

TRACTOR ATTACHMENT WARRANTY

Mower decks included with, or sold separately, as an attachment for COLUMBIA garden tractors will be warranted according to the above terms of the COLUMBIA THREE (3) YEARS limited consumer warranty.

ALL OTHER ATTACHMENTS will be sold under the same conditions as above except the warranty will be ONE (1) YEAR FROM DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE.

WARRANTY FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS

All replacement parts sold and installed by an authorized COLUMBIA dealer are warranted against any defects in material and workmanship for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days from the date of purchase. Belts sold over the counter and installed by the consumer or any non-authorized person become the responsibility of the installer.

DEALER'S RESPONSIBILITIES

The dealer must maintain an adequate inventory of OEM spare parts and use these parts for warranty repairs. The use of generic parts which have not been purchased from an authorized dealer, including batteries, belts and inner tubes, will result in the non-payment of the claim(s). In addition, the utilization of used parts or parts taken from another unit replaced while under warranty is forbidden when a unit is repaired under warranty.
